This tour is an extended morning game drive designed for serious wildlife enthusiasts and photographers who want the best chance to spot the Sri Lankan Leopard and observe the park’s diverse animals during the most active period of the day (dawn and early morning).
The early start ensures you are one of the first jeeps in line when the park gates open at 6:00 AM, maximizing the time spent in the park when the big cats are most likely to be active. Unlike the shorter half-day tours (4-5 hours), this 7.5-hour option allows for deeper exploration of Yala’s prime wildlife zones (usually Block 1), providing ample time for tracking, patient waiting at waterholes, and enjoying a leisurely meal break inside the park’s designated area. The tour concludes before the midday heat (around 12:00 PM) when wildlife activity typically slows down.
